The Old Lighthouse Museum will be CLOSED today, tomorrow, and throughout Labor Day weekend due to the air conditioning system being down in the building.
For the comfort and safety of our visitors and volunteers, we have decided to remain closed until the issue can be resolved.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's understanding. We will post an update as soon as we are able to reopen.

Enjoy the beauty of the museum, which is located close to several amenities in the Michigan City Uptown Arts District.
We are open from April through October 31, 2025, every Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM CT.

Becoming a member of the Michigan City Historical Society helps support the preservation and sharing of our community’s history. Your membership allows us to operate the Old Lighthouse Museum, maintain our archival collections, assist with research requests, and provide educational programs for visitors and school groups. Members receive free admission to the museum and a digital membership card for easy entry. The Michigan City Historical Society, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
